Nowcast Alert: Thunderstorm, Rain, and Gusty Winds Expected in Pune and Other Districts
Pune, 17th May 2025: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast weather warning for the districts of Pune, Dharashiv, and Jalgaon. According to the alert, isolated areas in these regions are likely to experience thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, light rain, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30-40 kmph over the next 3–4 hours.
Residents are advised to take necessary precautions while stepping outdoors, as sudden weather changes may pose risks, particularly in open areas and while commuting.
The IMD has urged the public to stay updated through official weather bulletins and exercise caution during this period.
