Ola Auto-Rickshaw Driver Arrested for Obscene Behaviour with Female Passenger in Pune

Vishrantwadi, 6th November 2024: A young autorickshaw driver has been arrested by Pune Police for behaving obscenely with a female passenger. The woman had booked the autorickshaw through the Ola Cabs app.

The incident occurred in the Vishrantwadi area, and the woman filed a complaint at the Vishrantwadi Police Station. The incident took place around 1:00 AM earlier today. In connection with this case, a 28-year-old autorickshaw driver from Shastri Nagar has been arrested.

According to police reports, the complainant’s friend had organised a party, and while returning home from the event, the woman booked an autorickshaw via the Ola app. The rickshaw driver arrived around 12:30 AM. As they travelled through a secluded area, the driver began behaving inappropriately with the woman. Fearing for her safety, the woman screamed and contacted the police. Using the rickshaw’s number, Vishrantwadi Police tracked down and detained the driver. He has been served a notice and was presented in court. Police Sub-Inspector Tarachand Sudage is investigating the matter further.
