Ola Electric CEO Spared Court Appearance
New Delhi, 13th April 2026: Ola Electric has received a major relief from the Bombay High Court as it quashed earlier orders passed by a consumer commission in South Goa and cancelled a bailable warrant issued against its CEO.
The case began with a consumer complaint filed in South Goa. Following this, the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission had issued orders on January 20 and February 4, 2026 which included a directive for the CEO to appear in person.
Ola Electric informed stock exchanges on April 13 about the High Court’s decision. After which the court set aside the commission’s orders and ruled that the direction for the CEO’s personal appearance was not justified.
The High Court observed that the consumer commission had exceeded its jurisdiction while passing the orders. It also cancelled the bail warrant issued against the CEO which provided relief to the company’s leadership.
Following the ruling, Ola Electric said it has complied with regulatory requirements by informing both the NSE and BSE under disclosure norms.
The decision is seen as significant as it clarifies limits on consumer forums’ powers and removes immediate legal pressure on the company.
