OMG 2 Review: Akshay Kumar’s Audacious Venture Earns Admiration And Controversy

Mumbai, 10th August 2023: First Impressions of OMG 2: The initial review of OMG 2, featuring Akshay Kumar in the lead, has been released and is filled with admiration for the Bollywood icon’s daring venture. This satirical comedy serves as a follow-up to the 2012 blockbuster “OMG- Oh My God! The follow-up instalment, OMG 2, also features the skills of Yami Gautam, Pankaj Tripathi, and Arun Govil, celebrated for his portrayal in Ramayan.

Respected journalist Sudhir Chaudhary attended an exclusive preview of OMG 2 and took to Twitter to share his thoughts. Commending Akshay’s performance, Chaudhary expressed, “Just watched #OMG2, a groundbreaking take on sex education—a topic often sidestepped in our homes and schools. Hilarious and engaging, a classic @akshaykumar comedy, yet delivering a beautiful message. An audacious move by the established star #AkshayKumar, who scarcely needs to take such risks. He’s tackled an intricate subject with remarkable poise and certainty. I’d suggest every teenager, parent, and educator give it a watch. Regrettably, an ‘A’ rating has labelled OMG2 as an adult movie, despite its relevance to teenagers.”

After reportedly facing a two-week delay with the Censor Board, OMG 2 received approval with 27 alterations. The movie received a rating of “Adults Only.”

Earlier reports indicated that the creators were dissatisfied with the modifications and intended to contest them. A source shared with Bollywood Hungama, “The creators aren’t satisfied with these edits as they believe it will dilute the film’s essence. They’re also opposed to the ‘A’ rating. Ultimately, they believe that the subject of sex education should be accessible to audiences of all ages.”
