On 75th Independence Day Dr KHS honoured among 75 Healthcare Changemakers in India
Pune, 23rd August 2022: Sancheti Hospital rejoices another milestone as founder Dr KHS is honoured amongst the 75 Healthcare Changemakers in India on 22 August 2022. For decades, the white-coat heroes have worked dedicatedly to save millions of lives and transform the healthcare ecosystem by putting their lives at risk. Their sacrifices are incredible and account for applause and appreciation today and every day. One such one-of-its-kind initiative is the “Coffee Table Book”- by HEAL Foundation highlighting path-breaking accomplishments. The niche edition profiled the doyens who laid the foundation to build the healthcare infrastructure in the country.
Padma Doctors Congregation, in association with the Government of India’s Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, to commemorate 75 years of Independence and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements, arranged the felicitation of the top 75 Healthcare Changemaker Padma Awardee Doctors, Dr KHS – Founder of Sancheti Hospital, Pune being one of them.
Dr KHS started practising Orthopaedics on 12th December 1965. Since the hospital was set up in 1965, KHS hasn’t stopped working and has performed 55,000 surgeries. Dr KHS’s expertise in the field has led him to a spot that was recognised and felicitated by the Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan.
The jury for the award consisted of renowned experts in the field. The Honourable Cheif Guest, Shri Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister For Health & Family Welfare Of India graced the event and extended his warm regards to all the doctors and medical fraternity Guest Of Honour, Honourable Smt. Bharti Pawar, Minister Of State For Health & Family Welfare attributed the 75 Healthcare Changemaker Padma Awardee Doctors, for their yeomen services and innovative ideas that brought a drastic transformation in India’s healthcare landscape.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr KHS said, “It’s an honor to be the part of a book that has such stalwarts. The work done over the years by the awardees is an inspiration and the future generations will definitely be empowered to carry on the work done. It is our goal to make communities healthier and make healthcare affordable. Access to healthcare is a right not a privilege
