Pune: Argument Over Girl, Murder Of Friend’s Father In Broad Daylight

Pune, 23rd August 2022: Shashikant Babaso Karande (47) was brutally murdered by three killers in front of Kavi Moropant School at Sriramnagar in Baramati city by stabbing him in the neck, head, body and legs.

In this regard, Baramati City Police had registered a case under IPC Section 302, 34 and Section 4, 25 of the Indian Arms Act and Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act.

In this case, Baramati city police have detained three minors (seventeen years old) today (August 23). These boys have confessed to killing Shashikant Babaso Karande.

One of the children involved in the legal conflict had a dispute with the deceased’s son Shekhar over a girl’s friendship. At the time also attacked the complainant’s son in May. At that time also he and his other accomplices were detained by the police. He was produced before the Juvenile Court. The minor accused’s parents later released him from the Juvenile Court.

All the three minors detained by the police are friends of each other and are in touch with each other through social media. The deceased’s son and all the three accused children studied in the same school and were friends earlier.

But there was a dispute between them over the friendship of the girls. The son of the deceased filed a case against them. So the three boys misunderstand that it creates a barrier in their girlfriend’s love. They also misunderstood that the dead were also supporting their son.

Deceased Shashikant, as a father, had once or twice made the accused understand not to fight and reportedly the accused were also angry about this. They wanted to be famous on social media. Overall, it is seen from their social media posts that they want to act as a spokesperson in the Sriram Nagar area and create influence in that place in the future. It was for this reason that they killed Shashikant Karande in broad daylight.

The deceased Shashikant had come to the school yesterday to pick up his daughter. That girl has nothing to do with this incident. She is the only eyewitness to the crime. After investigating the said crime, the children affected by the said legal conflict were ordered to be detained and interrogated immediately.

Accordingly, the team of Police Inspector Sunil Mahadik of Baramati City Police Station detained them. A thorough investigation of all social media is underway. All these accused will be prosecuted in regular court and will be followed up by the police.

The police have appealed to all the parents as well as the teachers that they should all work together to monitor the social media of the minors. Parents must check Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp of minor boys and girls from time to time. Also, minors whose family environment is not good need special attention. Police are also now going to do social media monitoring in this regard.
