One Dead in Explosion at Defence Factory in Bhandara, NDRF Rescues Seven
Bhandara, 24th January 2025: An explosion rocked the Defence Factory in Jawahar Nagar, Bhandara, at around 10:30 am today, leading to a devastating fire and the collapse of a building within the premises. The incident has left 13 workers trapped, according to initial reports.
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) swiftly deployed its team to the site and has been leading the rescue operations since. Seven individuals have been rescued so far, while six are still feared to be trapped under the debris.
“NDRF personnel are using specialized equipment and working relentlessly to rescue the trapped workers. Our priority is to ensure the safety of everyone involved in the operation,” said an NDRF official.
The explosion, followed by the structural collapse, has caused significant damage. Local authorities and the factory management are assisting the NDRF in their efforts.
