New Delhi, 16th May 2025: The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has launched an online portal — https://sainikschoolsociety.in — to invite applications from eligible schools, trusts, NGOs, and private entities seeking to collaborate in establishing new Sainik Schools across India. The registration window is open from May 15 to June 14, 2025.

This move is part of the Central Government’s ambitious plan to set up 100 new Sainik Schools in partnership with state governments, non-governmental organizations, and private players. The initiative aims to expand access to quality education aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) and encourage students to explore a wide range of career paths, including joining the Armed Forces.

According to the MoD, 86 schools have already been approved under this model, which promotes joint efforts between the government and civil society in the spirit of nation-building.

These newly established Sainik Schools will maintain their affiliation with existing education boards but will also operate under the Sainik Schools Society. They will be required to adhere to the society’s rules and regulations for partner institutions.

In addition to the standard academic curriculum, these schools will adopt the “Academic-Plus” model — a distinctive approach based on the Sainik School pattern that emphasizes discipline, leadership, physical fitness, and patriotism.

Interested organizations can visit the official portal for guidelines, eligibility criteria, and application procedures. The Ministry encourages all potential partners to participate and contribute to shaping the future of India’s youth through this collaborative education model.
