Pune: Heavy Windstorm In Mulshi Causes Hoardings To Collapse; Four Bikes Damaged; No Casualties Reported

Pune, 16 May 2025: Mulshi taluka has been experiencing intense pre-monsoon windstorms for the past two days. On Thursday (15th May), the strong winds caused two hoardings along the Pune-Kolad road near Bhukum to collapse. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident. However, four two-wheelers parked beneath the hoardings were damaged due to the falling structures.
Former deputy sarpanch Sachin Angre confirmed the extent of the damage. One of the hoarding collapsed in front of Joshi Vadewale in Bhukum, causing damage to vehicles parked nearby. Another hoarding fell along the road leading from the Shell petrol pump to the SKYi housing society, resulting in damage to several two-wheelers.
The persistent afternoon rains and strong winds since yesterday have adversely affected crops such as Mangoes, Jambul (Indian Blackberry), Vegetables, and other produce in Mulshi. Livestock shelters, homes, and temporary sheds have also suffered damage as roofing sheets were blown away.
Low-lying road sections in several areas have been flooded, causing traffic disruptions and making movement difficult for commuters. Authorities have urged residents to exercise caution and remain alert amid the unstable weather conditions.
