Over 1 Lakh Anganwadi Workers In Maharashtra To Return Phones Given By Central Government
Pune, 24 August 2021: Over one lakh Anganwadi sevikas have decided to return the mobile phones they received from Central government. According to them, the mobile phones are of bad quality vis-à-vis also the mobile tracker is full of glitches.
The Maharashtra Government has not distributed the mobile phones or tablets owing to lack of financial funds. Thus, the campaign to return the mobile began at Mangalwar Peth at project no. 1 from Tuesday.
“Pension to officials and we get only tension, give us salary and not stipend”, were few of the slogans shouted by them during the campaign. Anganwadi Sevika union head Nitin Pawar said, “the mobiles given to these Anganwadi Sevikas are of poor quality. These phones require maintenance, and it costs Rs5,000. This cost has to be bore by the Sevikas. Thus, give us new and good quality mobiles.”
Meanwhile, the Ekatmak Bal Vikas Praklap commissioner has directed not to take back mobile phones. Sevikas have already deposited their phones but have not received the receipt yet. They have been told to deposit at Nodal officer or Commissionerate.
Nutrition tracker App full of glitches
“The nutrition tracker app in the mobile too is full of glitches. Since the RAM of the mobile is less, it does not get downloaded. Similarly, the one which is in English language does not have the delete option or cannot change the group settings, no guidance among others”, said Pawar.
