Over 12 Lakh People Use Pune Metro Service Between August 1 And 27, Average Ridership Increased

Pune 30th August 2023: After the launch of extended routes, the Pune Metro has been receiving a good response from commuters thereby increasing the revenue of Metro. According to Metro officials, Over 12 lakh people have used the service in August till 27th August through which the Metro has earned a revenue of over Rs 2.5 Crore.

The Pune Metro’s extended routes between Civil Court to Phugewadi Metro Station and Ruby Hall Clinic to Garware College via Civil Court Metro Station were inaugurated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi at an event in the city on August 1. According to the officials, a total of 12,18,126 passengers have used the Metro service between August 1 and August 27.

Vanaz to Ruby Hall Clinic Metro Station has received a good response compared to the other route as a total of 7,06,755 commuters used the service on this route compared to 5,11,371 commuters on Pimpri Chinchwad to Civil Court Metro Station route. The highest number of commuters were recorded on August 15 as a total of 1,23,000 commuters used the service within a day. The overall ridership of the Pune Metro has also increased as the officials have said that the average of 40,000 people are using the service every day.

According to Metro officials, more people are using the service on weekends as the ridership count reported on Saturday and Sunday is high compared to other days. This is a result of Pune Metro’s initiative of providing a 30% discount in the fare for these two days.
