Over 1,670 Consumers In Pune Division Get New Electricity Connection Within 24 To 48 Hours

Pune 21st August 2023 : The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has provided a total of 1,670 customers a new connection within 24 to 48 hours unde an initiative launched by the power utility. This includes domestic, commercial and industrial customers. A total of 823 of these consumers were given new connections in less than 24 hours while 847 were provided the connection within 48 hours, said officials.

The MSEDCL has expedited the work to provide new connections to the consumers this year and as a result, a total of 1,45,824 consumers were provided new connections between January and September. This includes 1,25,211 lakh domestic consumers, 16,621 commercial consumers, 2,304 industrial consumers and 1,688 connection in other categories.

The new connections are being provided from the present infrastructure wherever possible within 24 hours to the urban areas and 48 hours in the rural areas. In accordance with the plan, the Pune division has successfully accomplished the task of initiating 1,670 new power connections within 24 to 48 hours including domestic, commercial and industrial customers. In Pune city, 298 connections were established within 24 hours, while 371 connections were completed in 48 hours.

Similarly, Pimpri-Chinchwad city witnessed the addition of 213 connections in 24 hours and 186 connections in 48 hours. Additionally, rural areas including Ambegaon, Junnar, Maval, Khed, Mulshi, Velhe, and Haveli talukas achieved a total of 312 connections within 24 hours period and 290 connections in 48 hours.

“This significant initiative is set to enhance the accessibility of electricity for a wide array of consumers across Pune division, and marks another step forward in Maharashtra’s commitment to meeting the growing energy needs of its citizens” said Chief Engineer of MSEDCL’s Pune division.
