Pune: Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil Instructs Authorities To Expedite Katraj-Kondhwa Road Work
Pune 21st August 2023: Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil on Monday visited Katraj-Kondhwa road in the city to review the situation and obstruction to the planned work of the road. He inspected the road between Katraj and Khadi Machine and instructed the officials to expedite the work on priority.
He was accompanied by the officers of the Municipal Corporation, National Highway Authority of India and Traffic Department of the city police. He asked the officials to also expedite the work to acquire the land needed for the road. The offials informed him that the road department of the municipal corporation has already started work recommended by the traffic department including installation of blinkers, signages, Zebra crossing and rumblers to reduce the number of accidents.
The guardian minister also instructed the authorities to appoint a dedicated officer to measure the land needed for the road. Besides, he also instructed the PMC officials to ask MSEDCL to shift the power lines and poles that may become obstruction during the work. The guardian minister said that a meeting to review the obstructions regarding ongoing works of different roads in the city will be conducted every month.
It may be noted that a series of accidents were reported on the Katraj-Kondhwa in the last few days. Several people have lost their lives in these accidents after which the issue of road widening that was pending for years again came into discussion.
