Pune: Over 200 amateurs to represent 27 teams at Arun Sane Memorial Amateur Tennis League from December 3

Pune, December 2, 2022: Over 200 amateurs will represent 27 teams from Pune at the third edition of the Arun Sane Memorial Amateur Tennis League that will be organized by the PYC Hindu Gymkhana and the Pune Metropolitan District Tennis Association (PMDTA) on the PYC Hindu Gymkhana Tennis courts from December 3, 2022.

 

The President of the PYC Hindu Gymkhana Mr. Kumar Tamhane and the Hon Secretary of the Club Mr.Sarang Lagu said that the event will be held in the memory of the president of the PMDTA late Arun Sane. It is a unique concept as current players, former players; markers, coaches are not allowed to play the tournament.

 

The event will offer total prize money of Rs 40000. Tennis nuts Roger, FC B, Solaris Go getters, Maharashtra Mandal, Solaris Eagles, PYC Ruby’s, NGTA, PYC Diamonds, Deuce United, MWTA C, Advantage Solaris, Law College Lions, free Radicals, PYC Pearls, FC C, MWTA A, PCLTA, PYC Sapphire, Racqueteers, Golden Boys, Tennisnuts RAFA, Aces United, Maharashtra Mandal 2, MWTA B, FC A, PYC Emrald, Kothrud Rangers will be seen in the action, they added.

 

The event will be played on League cum Knock out basis. Total 27 teams are Participating distributed into 7 groups. A tie between 2 teams comprising 3 matches will be in the categories of 80plus (combined age of partners has to 80+) and other two matches will be Open Doubles, informed Abhishek Tamhane the organizing secretary of the event. Abhinav Jagtap and Narhar Garge has been appointed tournament supervisor for this event.

 

A tournament committee comprising Sunder Iyer, Abhishek Tamhane, Hemant Bendrey, Jayant Kadhe and Kaustubh Shah has been formed for the smooth conduct of the event.
