Over 50 Leading Colleges from Western India to compete and debate on some of the most trending topics
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has announced the launch of the Debate Competition on January 24, 2018 in Mumbai. The competition is a flagship event that offers college students across the western region (Goa, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh)an opportunity to debate and interact with students from different universities. Debate Competition provides students the scope to hone their soft skills such as communication, negotiation, problem-solving and critical thinking.
According to Mr. Keshav Murugesh, Chairman ― CII Western Region Education Committee and Group CEO, WNS Global Services, “Debates help in enhancing reasoning and presentation skills. Most importantly, debates enable people to become good team players. On behalf of CII, I am extremely excited to launch this event. I believe this competition can assist our youth in unlocking their true potential and help them become confident 21st century global citizens.”
The Debate Competition is an important agenda of the Education Committee planned across four cities ― Pune, Ahmedabad, Indore and Goa. More than 50 leading colleges will participate in the event. The winners of each state will compete in the grand finale to be held in Mumbai to claim the title of Debating Champions.
A trophy will be awarded to the winning team and the competition will be judged by some of the best-known talent in the country. CII will also conduct a webinar for participating teams in which experts in the field of communications will assist them in their preparation for the competition.
