Over 672 Employees Disqualified From Pune Municipal Limits For Bogus Recruitment

Pune, 20th October 2022: The Municipal Corporation has accepted the report submitted by Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao on the issue of bogus recruitment of 23 newly included villages in the municipal limits. According to this report, more than 672 people have been disqualified. After the decision to include villages in the Municipal Corporation, a large number of bogus recruitments took place in Gram Panchayats.

 

After the process of inclusion of villages in the Municipal Corporation started, a large number of sepoys to clerk posts were recruited in Gram Panchayats and the horse market was also involved. This process was carried out indiscriminately in the municipal corporation. The matter came up after the office had gone and the salaries of the new employees had been exhausted.

Then Chief Executive of Zilla Parishad, Officer Ayush Prasad, conducted a preliminary investigation. Prasad inquired and submitted the preliminary report to the Municipal Corporation. It was revealed that many people were fraudulently recruited. Accusations and counter-allegations of recruiting money from poor youth through local leaders were done.

 

The then Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar was approached in this matter. The Divisional Commissioner was ordered to conduct a final inquiry into the matter. Accordingly, the Divisional Commissioner submitted a confidential report after the inquiry to Municipal Administrator Vikram Kumar on Wednesday. This report has been accepted, and accordingly, 672 persons have been disqualified.
