Over 99 Lakh Women Take Benefit Of MSRTC’s 50% Concession In Ticket Fare Scheme In Pune Division
Pune 22nd August 2023: The state government’s scheme ‘Mahila Sanman Yojana’ has received a good response in Pune division as over 99 lakh women have travelled and benefitted with 50% concession in ticket fare scheme. The scheme was launched in March this year by the state government under which women travelling in MSRTC buses across the state are provided 50% concession in the ticket fare.

According to MSRTC officials, the highest number of women passengers were reported in May month this year ,as many people travelled in MSRTC buses following summer holidays. A total of 27,88,489 women travelled in the MSRTC buses in Pune division in May month alone. The response has been good in June and July too as 21,98,100 women passengers travelled in June while 21,18,645 women travelled in July month.
The state government on March 12 announced ‘Mahila Sanman Yojana’ in the state. Along with this, the government announced free travel in MSRTC buses for passengers above 75 years of age. According to the officials, a total of 42,11,785 senior citizens aged 75 years and above travelled in the MSRTC buses between March and July in Pune division so far.
