Owner, cook booked by Pune police for opening restaurant during lockdown

Pune, July 17, 2020: The Crime Branch of Pune City police raided a restaurant in Kondhwa area for allegedly operating during the stringent 10-days lockdown. The owner and cook have been booked by police now.

 

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Bachchan Singh said, “Information was received about one restaurant Night Cravers in Kondhwa is operating during the lockdown. The staff from Crime Branch Unit 5 verified the information and found it operating. Therefore, FIR was registered against the two accused. Establishments are requested to follow the guidelines as per lockdown orders.”

As per the FIR registered with Kondhwa police station, Night Cravers restaurant was found open, which is against the lockdown rule. Therefore, a case was registered against the restaurant owner Anuj Ghanshyam Chaurasia (34) and the cook Prakash Tarachand Khatri (30), both residents of Undri. They have been booked for offences under section 188 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and other relevant sections of the Disaster Management Act, Epidemic Diseases Act and Maharashtra COVID19 Rules.
