Palkhi 2026: Check 10 Official Parking Locations in Pune

Pune, 7th July 2026: Pune Police have announced special traffic arrangements across the city in view of the joint halt of the palanquins (Palkhis) of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Sant Tukaram Maharaj in Pune from July 9 to 10, 2026. A large number of devotees are expected to visit the city for darshan during this period.

To prevent traffic congestion and ensure safe, smooth and well-regulated vehicular movement, the Traffic Branch has introduced temporary traffic diversions and restrictions along the Palkhi route and adjoining areas. The measures have been implemented under the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, in accordance with a notification issued by the Maharashtra Government, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Dr. Sandeep Bhajibhakare.

Vehicles providing essential services, including fire brigade, police, ambulances, fuel tankers transporting petrol and diesel, as well as vehicles associated with marriage ceremonies, have been exempted from the restrictions.

To facilitate devotees arriving for darshan, the Samarth Traffic Division has arranged special parking facilities at the following 10 locations:

Ornellas High School, Quarter Gate Chowk

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Commerce and Arts College, Nana Peth

Laxmi Market, Nana Peth (Nehru Road)

S.G. Barve Primary School, Rasta Peth

Rafi Ahmed Kidwai High School, Bhawani Peth

Shantabai Ladkat Primary School, Nana Peth

S.G. Barve School, Rasta Peth

Markandeya Vidyalaya, Nana Peth

Savitribai Phule School, Bhawani Peth

Pune Announces Major Traffic Diversions, Heavy Vehicle Ban Ahead of Palkhi Processions

The Pune City Traffic Branch has appealed to devotees to follow the instructions of traffic police personnel and use only the designated parking facilities to ensure smooth traffic management during the Palkhi procession.
