Pune, 26th April 2023: A 37-year-old man was assaulted by a group of 5-7 people on the Pune-Mumbai Sinhagad Express for sitting on an empty seat. Sandeep Gondgave from Talegaon Dabhade was traveling to Mumbai when the incident took place.

According to reports, the passengers in the group barred Sandeep and his colleague from sitting on the empty seat, leading to an argument and physical assault. Sandeep has filed a complaint with the police, and a case has been registered against the 7 people involved.

The incident has once again highlighted the issue of overcrowding on trains and the need to increase the number of coaches to accommodate more passengers. However, despite the continuous increase in the number of passengers, the railway administration has not taken any decision on this matter yet.
