Pune, 6th January 2020: Patient care should be the mission and passion of any healthcare set up and any activity undertaken in healthcare management should be patient centric opined various experts at the 12th Hospicon Conference organised by Sancheti Healthcare Academy today at IMA House, Tilak Road, Pune. The conference based on theme “Expanding Vistas in Healthcare”. Hospicon 2020 Conference was inaugurated at the hands of Chief Guest Professor Dr. Mohan. B. Khamgaonkar, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik – and the Guest of honour Professor Dr. Parag Kalkar Dean, Faculty of Commerce and Management, Savitribai Phule Pune University in presence of Dr. K. H Sancheti, Hon. Founder President, Sancheti Hospital, Manisha Sanghavi, Executive Director, Sancheti Healthcare Academy, Prof. Dr. P.V. Bokil, Principal, Sancheti Healthcare Academy, Ret. Col. Vijay Deshpande, MD, AFMC, Hospital Administration. Hospicon 2020 Sovenir was released, followed by inauguration ceremony.
The welcome address was delivered by Manisha Sanghavi, Executive Director, Sancheti Healthcare Academy.
Prof. Dr. P.V. Bokil, Principal, Sancheti Healthcare Academy gave the annual report of the current batch students of Sancheti Healthcare Academy and felicitated the rankers. He also gave brief information regarding the paper and poster presentation and article competition.
Professor Dr. Mohan. B. Khamgaonkar, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik said that healthcare management includes multiple functions, they should be integrated and looked upon in a holistic way. Technology will play a role in this. Whatever activities that are undertaken should be patient centric. Patient care should be the mission and passion of any healthcare set up.
Dr. K. H Sancheti, Hon. Founder President, Sancheti Hospital said this kind of conferences such as Hospicon are really essential to know what is happening around you from the point of view of your patients and responsibilities. Utilize the problems to learn something more. If ever the machine learning and artificial intelligence are coming up you should remember that you’re dealing with a human being and every human being has got mind, soul. To take care of mind and soul you need certain qualities within yourself which include equality, gracefulness.
Speaking on the occasion Professor Dr. Parag Kalkar Dean, Faculty of Commerce and Management, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune said machine learning and artificial intelligence are now emerging in every sector and not only in IT. Rather than thinking traditionally, we should revisit all our systems and processes to see that how we can change it and make it better and user friendly. We have to look after the task based approach because the education system now is all about human beings who are standing behind the machines, using the system and process and this kind of conference will give you a vision to think ahead of the machine and create something innovative. Access and affordability are the two key aspects of the healthcare and we need to make hospital more user friendly. Implement the knowledge you gain here in your field, he addressed the participants.
The conference was followed by a cultural event ANTARANG in which delegates participated in dance, songs, drama, skits etc., to exhibit their personal talents.
