Pune, September 25: City based Pawan Singh, co-founder of Gun For Glory Shooting Academy of Gagan Narang Sports Promotion Foundation and the first Indian to become a jury at Tokyo Olympics for Shooting has been re-elected as the Joint Secretary General of the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI). In an election held at Chandigarh recently Pawan Singh was elected unopposed for the post for the second consecutive term of 4 years.
Pawan Singh thanked all the NRAI members for keeping faith in him yet again and expressed the desire to undertake a time bound effort to create good shooting coaches in India. According to him Shooting is getting popular at great pace in India with a lot of young boys and girls taking it up. However the number of coaches is not increasing with the desired speed so there is a big gap between the demand and supply of good quality coaches. There is a need to create about 1000 shooting coaches on various levels in India in the next 3-4 years.
Pawan Singh is the first and the only Indian to be a part of the jury of ISSF (International Shooting Sports federation) two times. His contribution in successfully organizing the ISSF World Cup in India was widely acknowledged.
