PCMC: Over 60 % of COVID cases are from Wakad, Pimpri, Chinchwad and Akurdi

Pimpri, June 15, 2020: Majority of Coronavirus positive cases in Pimpri-Chinchwad area have come from Wakad, Pimpri, Chinchwad and Akurdi. More than 60% of the total number of COVID-19 patients in Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) have been recorded from these four areas.

 

PCMC has reported a total of 1,184 COVID cases till now, out of which 727 cases were found in above mentioned areas. Till Sunday night, there were 352 patients from Chinchwad, 212 from Pimpri, 113 from Akurdi and 50 from Wakad. However, the recovery percentage of these areas has been more than 50%. 390 of them have recovered from these areas, while seven people have died. At present 330 people are undergoing treatment from these four areas.

 

Yesterday, a total of 34 new COVID-19 positive patients were reported from different parts of PCMC. Also, 25 people were discharged from hospitals after being cured. The number of corona patients in Pimpri-Chinchwad has been increasing rapidly in the last few days. The new patients include 1 from Akurdi, 4 from Bhosari,18 from Chinchwad,7 from Pimpri, 2 from Dapodi, 1 from Kasarwadi, 1 from Wakad,  1 from Thergaon, 1 from Bhosari and  2 from  Chikhali.

 

According to PCMC, the total number of Coronavirus positive patients has reached 1184 out of which 673 have been cured while 21 have died. There are still 490 active patients including 18 who are admitted in hospitals outside PCMC. Out of 139 non-PCMC patients, 19 have died while 91 have been cured and remaining 29 are undergoing treatment.
