Pimpri Chinchwad, May 22, 2020: The city of Pimpri-Chinchwad has been excluded from the red zone. The shops in markets have opened from today. However, the opening of the shop two months later saw a surge of customers in many places. This time there was a fuss of physical distance. The streets are crowded with citizens.

All the shops in the city have been opened on an even-odd date Pimpri-Chinchwad has a market for mobile and electronic goods in Pimpri. When the shop opened two months later, it was crowded with customers. Meanwhile, shops are opened in Pimpri Market. Even though only one person is allowed on a bike, two persons can be seen riding the two-wheelers. Therefore, many have disregarded the order of the PCMC Municipal Commissioner and Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissioner.

Sanitizers and masks are mandatory when buying items in shops to protect against corona, however, some shopkeepers were found to have violated this rule as well. The Pimpri market has been closed for the last two months, so there is a possibility of further congestion and shopkeepers may have to face action if they do not follow the rules.

Also, PMPML will start running buses at half the capacity of passengers in PCMC areas from May 26. They will not move out of the PCMC limit. This has brought a sigh of relief to people who want to commute within the city. According to PMPML, they will run about 100 buses initially and will think about increasing the frequency based on the demand.
