PCMC: Rahatani, Anandnagar sealed, 4 new COVID patients found in Pimpri Chinchwad

Pimpri, May 13, 2020: The number of Coronavirus positive patients in Pimpri-Chinchwad is increasing day by day. Five people tested positive today including one from outside PCMC. Rahatani and Chinchwad station’s Anandnagar area have been sealed after new patients were reported from there.

Among the patients who tested positive today, there are four men and a woman. Also, five people from Pimple Waghere, Pimple Gurav and Moshi were discharged from hospitals after being cured. According to PCMC, the total number of COVID patients has now reached 179 out of which 116 have been cured and discharged. Four have died while 59 are still admitted in hospitals.

The sealed area in Rahatani includes Chhatrapati Chowk, Srinanda Clinic, Siddhivinayak Temple, Renuka Mata Temple, Basera Residency, Om Medical, Jeevan Clinic.

Anandnagar, Chinchwad Station: Pune-Mumbai Highway, Chinchwad Station Road, Star Bakery, Sadguru Snacks, Carnival Cinema, Maldhakka Wall.

Earlier in the day, Pune Divisional Commissioner Deepak Mhaisekar visited PCMC’s ‘COVID19 War Room’ and inspected the work there. He appreciated the work and discussed the situation with PCMC commissioner Shravan Hardikar.

Regarding home quarantine and institutional quarantine, Dr Mhaisekar said that special care should be taken while taking information and making institutional segregation of passengers from abroad, other states. Emphasis should be placed on GPS tracking of home-quarantined citizens, he said, adding that the capacity of institutional quarantine should be increased.

PCMC commissioner gave detailed information about COVID situation in Pimpri Chinchwad. He also said that about two thousand volunteers have been registered for the work related to Corona.
