PDFA League Pune: Giantz ‘A’, Ghorpadi Tamil United begin Super-8 with wins
Pune, 4th May 2022: Giantz ‘A’ and Ghorpadi Tamil United got off to winning starts in their Second Division Super-8 campaign in the PDFA League 2021-22 League, here on Saturday.
In the opening round of matches at the SSPMS ground, Giants ‘A’ had the best win of the day downing New India Soccer 3-1, while Ghorpadi Tamil United struck deep into added time to silence Deccan XI ‘C’ 1-0.
Giantz ‘A’ found themselves a goal behind when Vivian Bhosale (12th) gave New India Soccer the early lead. Changing ends, Rohan Khot (44th) levelled for Giantz 1-1. And later, Anshul Sharma (46th) and Aadesh Sonkamble (60+1st) completed the tally
In another encounter, Ghorpadi Tamil United had Samson Pillay (60+4th) settle the issue against Deccan XI ‘C’.
Later, Rahul F.A and Dynamites played out a 0-0 draw.
Meanwhile, in the Second Division Relegation Play Off Sukhai F.C had Ganesh Kale (13) net the match-winner against Wanowari S.C.
In the other match, Sunny Days beat NDA Youth Sports Club 3-0 with Vinayak Anmol (28tg and 54th) doing the star act, and Sandeep Khate (21st) adding a goal to the tally.
At SP College, City FC Pune won with ease beating Black Hawks 3-0. A brace by Amit Jare (51st, 55th) and a goal by Garry Rodrigues (60th) was enough to settle the issue.
