Pune Metro Line 3 host a special rally for environmental awareness

Pune, 04 June 2022: A special “Enviro Rally” was organized today (Saturday) at Balewadi on behalf of Pune Metro Line 3 on Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar route. The main objective of this rally was to connect the students who are the main means of transportation of the future as well as those who promote pollution free transport and the future of the country.

Alok Kapoor, Chief Executive Officer, Pune IT City Metro Rail Limited, Neha Pandit, Director, Pune IT City Metro Rail Limited and Akshay Sharma, Director Projects at Pune IT City Metro Rail Limitedwere present on the occasion accompanied by Sagar Balwadkar, Secretary, SKP Campus, Balewadi who was invited as special guest to grace the occasion.

Employees of Pune IT City Metro Rail Limited and employees of Tata Projects Limited participated in the morning procession which started from Sai Chowk in Balewadi and passed through High Street. Also, teachers and students at CM International School at Balewadi participated in the morning procession carrying various environmental awareness placards. At this time, these students expressed their determination to always strive for clean campus and pollution free transport. After the morning procession, a cultural program on environment awareness was also organized for the students.

About Pune Metro line 3:

The Pune Metro line III is a ~23 Km elevated Metro rail project connecting the IT hub of Hinjewadi to the Central business district of Shivajinagar. It is a Public Private Partnership (PPP) project awarded by Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) to a consortium consisting of Tata Group’s TRIL Urban Transport Private Limited (TUTPL) and Siemens Project Ventures GmbH. The Project would be developed & operated on Design, build, finance, operate & transfer (DBFOT) basis by a special purpose vehicle (SPV), Pune IT City Metro Rail Limited or PITCMRL for a Concession Period of 35 years including construction period.
