Pedestrian Died in Dumper Accident in Pune’s Wagholi Area

Wagholi, 14th December 2024: A pedestrian lost his life in an accident involving a speeding dumper in the Wagholi area on Nagar Road. The Wagholi police have registered a case against the dumper driver, who fled the scene following the incident.

The deceased has been identified as Indrajit Nivrutti Sarde (58), a resident of Ubalenagar, Wagholi. Sarde, who was in the business of selling milk, was on his way home on the evening of December 12 after completing his deliveries.

According to police, the speeding dumper struck him near the Ubalenagar area, leaving him critically injured. Sarde succumbed to his injuries before medical assistance could be provided.

Sarde’s son, Samadhan (20), has lodged a formal complaint against the dumper driver, identified as Raju Pandu Chavan (24), a resident of Suyognagar, Bhavdi Road, Wagholi. Police have registered a case and launched a manhunt for the absconding driver.

Police Sub-Inspector Manoj Bagal is leading the investigation.
