Pune, 4th October 2022: On October 1, the All India Petrol Dealers Association went on a strike and all Torrent CNG Stations were shut in Pune over payment of commission by oil marketing companies (OMCs).

The stand of No Sale Of CNG on 100% of Torrent pumps was successfully completed as the first step to protest against the autocratic way of Torrent gas of not passing on the right of fair trade margin as per MOPNG circular.

According to the Working Committee, Petrol Dealers Association Pune, the dealers are facing an average loss of Rs 1,50,000 per month and a yearly loss of around 13,00,000 and are deprived of this money which has to be paid by Torrent gas to the dealers on account of the differential trade margin of CNG.

It is to be noted that the Torrent company or the OMC’s did not meet the dealers and the association to resolve the long lasting demands.

The committee says, “We, the dealers are the face of the OMC’s and Torrent gas when it comes to selling of petroleum products and serve the public at large.”

They added, “This is the first step towards our protest, further if these demands of payment of arrears ( with interest ) and giving commission as per guidelines of Ministry of Petroleum are not met in next 15 days, we will be compelled to go on an indefinite NO SALE of CNG from Torrent Gas on our retail outlets from October 20.”
