Petrol Price Crosses Rs 100 Per Litre In Pune, Diesel Price At Record High

Pune, 31 May 2021: Fuel prices in Pune city have shot up today and crossed Rs 100 per litre mark. Today petrol is being sold for Rs 100.15 per litre, while diesel price is Rs 90.71 per litre. Almost 65% of the price includes excise duty, value-added tax (VAT) and other cess levied by the governments.

All India Petrol Dealers Association (AIPDA) spokesperson Ali Daruwala told PunekarNews.in, “The prices can reduce only if the state and central governments roll back their share of the taxes.”

The cost of Power petrol is Rs 103.83 petrol and CNG Rs 55.50 kg. In the last two months, prices of petrol and diesel have increased while CNG cost is stable.

According to Daruwala, the approximate break up of petrol price in Pune is as follows:

Basic – Rs 36.11

Excise duty – Rs 32.90

State VAT – Rs 17.25

State cess – Rs 10.12

Dealer Margin – Rs 3.07

Transportation and other expenses: 0.70

Total price – Rs 100.15

Price break up of Diesel in Pune city: 

Basic- Rs 38.55

Excise duty- Rs 31.80

State VAT- Rs 14.78

State cess- Rs 3.00

Dealer Margin- Rs 2.58

Total price- Rs 90.71
