PF department attaches Sinhgad Institute properties for recovery of Rs 14.79 crores dues

Pune, January 3, 2019 – The Pune regional office of the employees’ provident fund organisation (EPFO) on Thursday (January 3) attached some properties of the Sinhgad Institute to recover dues of Rs 14.79 crores.

M/s Sinhgad Technical Education Society failed to pay the amount on time following which the EPFO attached its property at survey no. 50/1 (near Iskcon temple on Katraj-Kondhwa road), admeasuring 1H 4R, with Sinhgad City School building, hostel building, and site development/infrastructure etc constructed thereon.

The order of attachment dated December 26, 2018, was sent M N Navale, president of M/s Sinhgad Technical Education Society. “It is ordered that you, Shri M.N. Navale, has been prohibited and restrained, until further order, from transferring or charging the mentioned property in any way and that all persons be, and that they are hereby prohibited from taking any benefit under such transfer or charge”, states the order issued by Atul Kotkar, recovery officer and assistant PF Commissioner.

EPFO officials said that inspite of various notices to pay the outstanding PF dues, Sinhgad institute failed to pay the same. Hence, EPFO has initiated coercive action and started attachment of its properties. PF inspectors Amresh Kumar and SS Modani executed the attachment orders on Thursday (January 3). The enquiry period was from March 2014 till March 2016.

The version of Sinhgad Institute will be added after receiving it from the institute.
