Pimpri Chinchwad: 12 new Coronavirus positive today, tally reaches 81 now

Pimpri, April 24, 2020: Reports of 12 people from Koyanagar and Rupeenagar area of Nigdi has come Coronavirus positive today. They include seven men, three women and two girls. They are undergoing treatment at a municipal hospital. First a youth from the same area was detected positive yesterday. The area has since been sealed off since midnight on Thursday.

 

After the youth’s report came positive on Thursday, 25 of his high-risk contacts were admitted to the municipal hospital. Their samples were tested at National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune. Their report came in on Friday morning. There are six men and three women, all young. All are between the ages of 18 and 60. The two girls are three years old. They are undergoing treatment at Bhosari Hospital.

 

According to Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) officials, the number of Coronavirus positive cases has reached 81 in PCMC areas. Till now 21 of them have been cured and discharged from hospitals while four people have died including one from Pune. One 65-year-old patient from Ota Scheme Nigdi died today, said PCMC health officer Dr Praveen Salve.

The number of Coronavirus positive patients is rising rapidly in Pune district especially the Pune city area. According to the district health officer (DHO), till 7 pm on 23 April ie yesterday, the number of total patients in the district increased to 985. The same number on April 22 at 7 pm was 881. Officials said that out of 985, a total of 150 patients have been cured and discharged, while 61 have died in the district.

 

Till yesterday night, the count of COVID19 patients in the state of Maharashtra was 6427 after 778 new patients were identified as positive for Covid19. From these, 840 Covid19 patients have been cured and discharged from the respective hospitals, while 283 have died.

 

According to Union Health Ministry, India’s COVID19 cases crossed 23,000 mark today and now the tally stands at 23,077. There are 17610 active cases while 4749 have been cured and discharged from hospitals while 718 deaths persons have died. One person has migrated.
