The action was carried out around 10.30 pm on January 12 at Ganraj Colony in Rahatani. Rahul Nikam, head of the Flying Squad (FST), has lodged a complaint in this regard at Kalewadi Police Station.

Polling for the PCMC elections is scheduled for January 15, 2026, between 7.30 am and 5.30 pm. To ensure strict implementation of the Model Code of Conduct, an Election Control Cell has been set up under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner and Election Officer Shravan Hardikar. According to officials, at around 10.23 pm on January 12, the Election Control Cell received a complaint alleging distribution of washing machines to voters in Ganraj Colony, Rahatani. Acting swiftly on the tip-off, an FST led by Rahul Nikam rushed to the spot.

During the inspection, the team found 19 washing machines loaded in a vehicle bearing registration number MH 14 KA 6330. The appliances were seized on suspicion of being used to influence voters in violation of the election code.
