Pimpri Chinchwad: 35-Year-Old Man Rescued from 20-Foot Drain in Wadmukhwadi
Wadmukhdwadi, 17th July 2025: A dramatic late-night rescue unfolded in Wadmukhwadi as a 35-year-old man was pulled out from a 20-foot-deep drainage channel near Sankalp Garden. The incident, reported just past midnight, prompted immediate action from the Chovisawadi and Moshi fire stations.
Upon receiving the alert, emergency teams swiftly reached the location. Firefighters used ropes and a stretcher to safely lift the injured man, who was found in a critical state and showing signs of severe distress. He was rushed to Rahane Hospital for emergency treatment.
Authorities have yet to confirm the victim’s identity or the events leading to the fall. An investigation is ongoing to determine the exact cause.
The quick response of the Pimpri-Chinchwad fire department was praised by locals, who also appealed to civic authorities to cover and maintain open drains to avoid future mishaps.
