Pimpri Chinchwad: After 14 Years Accused Arrested For Murdering Girlfriend
Bhosari, 25th December 2022: The sleuths from Crime Branch unit one of Pimpri Chinchwad police have arrested a man who had been absconding after killing his girlfriend 14 years ago. She had been asking him for marriage following which he killed her.
The arrested accused has been identified as Appa Gomaji Mohite. An FIR has been registered against him at Bhosari police station.
According to police, Mohite was already married and had an affair with the deceased woman. She was asking him to get a divorce from his wife and marry her. She also threatened to filling rape case if he did not marry her. On 21st April 2008, he kidnapped her and murdered her in a room. After that, he ran away.
Appa is a criminal on the police record. He has been charged with numerous murders and attempted murders. He actively participated in the Prakash Chavan gang. It spread after the murder incident. He was being watched by the police. But the police did not catch him. He changed his residence and name frequently.
In the meantime, sources informed the police that he is making ends meet by doing whatever work he can in Chakan MIDC. It came to light that he lives in Waki, Rajguru Nagar, Pune. After 14 years, it was hard for the police to catch him again. There was no data about what he looked like. Only that he worked and lived in Waki was known to the police. However, the police laid a trap at Waki and handcuffed him.
The action has been taken by police personnel Mahadik, Sachin More, Mahale, Kamle Prashant Mali under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Dnyaneshwar Katkar of Crime Branch Unit I.
