PMC Sounds COVID Alert, Thermal Screening Of Passengers To Begin At Pune Airport From Today

Pune, 22nd December 2022: In the backdrop of rising cases of Coornavirus disease (COVID) in China and some parts of the country, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has geared up to deal with the situation.
As part of the precautionary measures, PMC has appealed people to follow COVID appropriate behaviour. Also, PMC is starting thermal screening of passengers coming from outside at Pune airport, said PMC additional commissioner Ravindra Binwade.
He said that the situation is under control and citizens should not panic. There are 44 active COVID positive patient in PMC jurisdiction as of now. The RTPCR centres for testing will be restarted and awareness campaign will be launched in housing societies through ward offices.
