Pimpri Chinchwad: Eight-Year-Old Girl Suffers Severe Burns Due to Exposed Electric DP in Pimple Saudagar
Pimple Saudagar, 29th May 2023: An incident of a young girl being burnt due to contact with an open electric DP has come to light. Anand Vijaykumar Umerjikar, a resident of Pimple Saudagar, filed a complaint at the Sangvi police station regarding the incident that occurred on April 16 at 4:30 pm.
As per the complaint, the victim, an eight-year-old girl, was playing with her friend when she ventured into the compound near the public toilet in Jagtap Colony, Pimple Saudagar. Tragically, her hand came into contact with the exposed electric DP, resulting in severe burn injuries on her hand, shoulder, chest, and stomach.
An investigation by the police revealed that the accident occurred due to negligence on the part of the concerned officers and employees of Mahavitran. They failed to secure the electric DP compound and neglected to properly close the DP, leading to the unfortunate incident.
A case has been registered against the responsible officers and employees under Section 338 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The Sangvi police are currently conducting further investigations into the matter, aiming to ascertain the full details and hold the responsible parties accountable for their negligence.
