Pimpri Chinchwad: FIRs Registered For Stealing Valuables Of COVID Patients At Jumbo Centres

Pimpri, 6th May 2021: After getting complaints about thefts of valuables of COVID patients and also not giving valuables to relatives after the death of patients, Pimpri police station on Wednesday registered two cases.

The first case has been filed by Vaishnavi Jyotiba Khule (20) of Pimple Nilakh. As per her complaint, her maternal uncle Prashant Vishwanath More (40) of Alandi was admitted to Nehrunagar Jumbo COVID Centre on April 25. He passed away during treatment on May 1. However, his phone worth Rs 10,000 was not handed over to the family.

Another complaint has been filed by Sagar Diwakar Gujar (35) of Ganeshnagar, Bopkhel. His mother Shital Gujar (61) was admitted to the Nehrunagar Jumbo COVID Centre on April 14 and she died on April 19. After her death, the staff did not hand over her mangalsutra, earring, and one gold ring, totally worth Rs 41,000.

Police officials said that the FIRs have been registered against unidentified persons and further investigation is going on.
