Pimpri Chinchwad Police Crime Branch Recovers 14 Bullets, FZ, KTM Stolen Bikes From Notorious Thief

Chinchwad, September 17, 2020: The sleuths from the Crime Branch Unit 1 of Pimpri Chinchwad police have nabbed a thief and seized 14 costly bikes including Bullet, FZ and KTM worth Rs 17 lakh from his possession.

Commissioner of Police Krishna Prakash while addressing a press conference today said that the arrested accused, Hemant Rajendra Bhadane (24) of Bhorwada, Nashik, used to sell the stolen bikes to people in rural areas in different districts at throwaway prices like Rs 12,000 to 15,000. “During the investigation, it was revealed that the accused stole expensive motorcycles like Bullet, FZ, KTM and Pulsar from Pimpri Chinchwad and Pune and sold them to the citizens of Beed, Ahmednagar and Dhule saying that he would give the documents later. A team led by Assistant Police Inspector Ganesh Patil camped in Dhule, Beed, Nashik, Aurangabad and Ahmednagar areas for four days and seized bikes worth Rs 17.7 lakh”, the top cop informed.

The accused was arrested on September 11. Police Constable Ganesh Sawant had received a tip-off that a man who had stolen KTM bike would arrive at Ankushrao Landage Hall in Bhosari. Accordingly, a trap was laid and Bhadane was nabbed based on the description given by an informant. A KTM bike was seized and it was revealed that he had stolen it from Bhosari on September 1, said Police Inspector Uttam Tangde, in-charge of Crime Branch Unit 1.

According to police, the accused had stolen one KTM bike from Bhosari, three Bullets from Chakan, one Bullet from Wakad, one Pulsar from MIDC Bhosari police stations under Pimpri Chinchwad police, one Bullet each from Bharati Vidyapeeth, Sahakarnagar, Chatushringi and Hadapsar police station under Pune city police and one Bullet from Sarkarwada and one FZ from Ambad police stations under Nashik City police.

Police have also arrested Bhadane’s accomplice Yogesh Sunil Bhamre (24) of Gartad, Dhule, for helping him in selling stolen motorcycles. The accused Bhadane is a criminal on the police record for stealing vehicles. A total of 37 cases have been registered against him, 35 in Nashik district and 2 in Thane city earlier.

“During the lockdown, the accused used to travel from Nashik in a truck or tempo and come to Pune. After stealing motorcycles he used to take them to Beed, Dhule, Nashik and used to sell them with the help of Bhamre. The accused was also selling a car by contacting the customer through Facebook Messenger and deleting the conversation between the two after the car was sold”, Inspector Tangde said.

The action was taken under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police Ramnath Pokale, DCP Sudhir Hiremath and ACP RR Patil. The investigation team included PSI Kaluram Landage, and policemen Pramod Lande, Balu Kokate, Amit Gaikwad, Nitin Khese, Ganesh Sawant, Vijay More, Pramod Garje, Maruti Jayabhaye, Vishal Bhoir, Rajendra Shete and Nagesh Mali.
