Pimpri Chinchwad Police Nab Many Dacoits From MP On Pune-Mumbai Expressway, Hunt On For Their Accomplices

Urse, 20th January 2022: Pimpri-Chinchwad police today intercepted robbers on the Pune-Mumbai expressway. The cops have managed to nab eight of them while some are said to be hidden in the nearby hills.

One policeman got injured when the robbers tried to run a vehicle over him. The incident took place around noon.

According to the police, information was received that the hardened criminals and robbers from Madhya Pradesh would be coming from Mumbai to Pune via the expressway. Accordingly, a trap was laid at the Urse Toll Naka. As per the information, cops zeroed on two vehicles and asked the occupants to come out. Five of them got out of the vehicle while the other robbers saw the police and tried to flee. When a police officer tried to stop them, he was hit by a dash of a robber’s car, injuring him slightly.

The robbers drove in the opposite direction of Mumbai on the expressway for some distance. They stopped at a distance and fled into the mountains along the road. Police have managed to find and arrest some of them, said Assistant Commissioner of Police Dr Prashant Amritkar.

Meanwhile, anti-gunda squad, social security cell, crime branch unit five personnel are still searching for the accused in the hills.
