Pimpri-Chinchwad: Unsung Warriors Felicitated

Bhosari, January 3, 2021: “The ‘Unsung Warriors’ award served to exchange good ideas. With the guidance and follow-up of all, including the people’s representatives, the development of the city takes place. If administration and politics are taken positively, the graph of development can be presented. During the Covid-19 crisis, we were able to make our city Covid-19 free”, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Shravan Hardikar expressed his feelings during a program to felicitate Corona warriors.
Corona Warriors were honoured on behalf of Chikhali, Moshi, Charholi Housing Society Federation and Avirat Shramdan, Pimpri Chinchwad. The event was held at Ankushrao Landge Natyagruha in Bhosari. Mayor Mai Dhore and MLA Mahesh Landge were present also on the occasion.
Commissioner Hardikar said, “We are proud of the citizens of Pimpri Chinchwad. During the Covid-19 period, everyone was scared but not one disobeyed the rules. Many difficulties had come up like Health department staff did not receive the PPE kit initially. The security guard was not there. Situations turned worse but due to the love of citizens towards the city, it was possible for us to be Covid-19 free. Yet the situation is not totally under control, the virus has not ended yet. Many disasters might arise and we need to face them. So honouring the Covid warriors is like giving honour to myself.”
MLA Landge said, “If you look back, no one has smiled for 10 months. Everyone was worried about Corona. However, we overcame it. So I’m happy to talk about Corona Warriors. I was infected by the coronavirus. Everyone prayed for me and called my family members to enquire about my health. Later many members of my family got infected and were hospitalized.
A board was displayed outside my house. The members in the house had been infected with the coronavirus. Many patients were detected in my street so it was closed. Then no one called my family members to inquire about their health. I had posted on Facebook to support the family member of every patient who had a coronavirus infection, give them moral support. Everyone was supporting the families of those affected by the corona, inquired carefully every hour. It raised the morale of the people. I am proud of the people who have given me that support.”
