Pimpri Chinchwad: Women Injured, House Damaged as Truck Driver Loses Control in Nigdi

Nigdi, 11th November 2024: A pickup truck driver in Pimpri Chinchwad lost control of his vehicle, hitting two women and causing them serious injuries. The truck then crashed into a house, damaging the wall and interior. The incident occurred in Nigdi yesterday at 11:30 AM.

A 45-year-old woman from Shirur has filed a complaint at the Nigdi Police Station under the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate. A case has been registered against the driver, Dayaram Sunil Jadhav, though his full details remain unknown.

The charges against Jadhav include sections 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way), 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others), and 427 (mischief causing damage) of the Indian Penal Code, along with relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act of 1988.

According to police reports, the complainant, her daughter, and her two sisters-in-law were walking to the Sai Temple near their home when the truck, allegedly driven recklessly, struck the complainant and her sister-in-law. They sustained injuries to their legs, back, face, and head. The truck then rammed into a wall, damaging the house owned by Mahadev Jadhav.

Police Sub-Inspector Sandeep Gadilkar from Nigdi Police Station is leading the investigation.
