Pimpri: Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Takes Action Against Three Gangs Under MCOCA

Pimpri Chinchwad, 31st July 2023: In a significant development, the Pimpri-Chinchwad police have initiated stringent action against three organized crime gangs under the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA). A total of 16 accused members from these gangs in Pimpri, Talegaon Dabhade, and Bhosari were taken into custody. This action came under the directive of Police Commissioner Vinaykumar Choubey.
Among those apprehended, eight individuals were linked to the gang led by Yashwant alias Atul Subhash Dongre in Pimpri, four to Sudhir Anil Pardeshi’s gang in Talegaon Dabhade, and four more to Saurabh Santuram Motirave’s gang in Bhosari. These gangs were involved in a range of serious offenses, including murder, attempted murder, theft, destruction of evidence, assault, housebreaking, vehicle vandalism, and arson, as recorded within the jurisdiction of Pimpri, Chakan, Talegaon Dabhade, Bhosari police stations.
The Pimpri-Chinchwad Police have been diligently employing the ‘MCOCA Pattern’ to tackle organized crime in the region. This year alone, they have taken action against 226 criminals from 24 different gangs, highlighting their proactive efforts to curb criminal activities in the city.
