Pimpri: The new Jumbo Hospital in Pimpri starts admitting COVID patients, delayed by three days

Pimpri, August 31, 2020: The Jumbo hospital setup in Annasaheb Magar Stadium in Pimpri has started admitting COVID patients from Monday, as the inauguration ceremony took place last week.

The Jumbo hospital has a capacity of 616 oxygen beds, 200 ICU beds. The hospital was supposed to start from Friday, August 27, but the medical oxygen tank was delayed, it was supposed to reach last week. Therefore, the dry-test trail got delayed, which was completed by Sunday evening, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation Commissioner Shravan Hardikar said.

He further said, “The beds are installed and the dry-test has begun. We would start admitting patients from Sunday night. COVID patients will be treated free of cost including ICU dialysis beds.”

Additional Commissioner of PCMC Santosh Patil said, “The oxygen tank has the capacity of 25-kilo litre and the oxygen inspection is underway. The hospital has a capacity of 816 beds among which 50 percent beds were installed at the time of inauguration.
