Piped water supply to every household through ‘Har Ghar ko Nal se Jal’ scheme: Fadnavis

Mumbai, June 18, 2019 : Through the Marathwada Water Grid project water supply to every village in Marathwada region will be made through pipeline. In coming five years ‘Har Ghar Ko Nal se Jal’ (Pipe water to every household) scheme will be implemented as per the decision taken at the just concluded NITI Ayog meeting in New Delhi, said Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis Monday in the State Assembly during question hour.

MLA Jaiprakash Mundada asked a question regarding water supply to Parbhani town. Replying to the discussion on this Chief Minister Fadanvis said that efforts are on to provide water to villages and towns as per the parameters of the Central Government.

In a drought situation per head 20 litre water is given in rural areas. Review will be taken to increasing this quota, the Chief Minister said.

Sanction is accorded to most water supply schemes under AMRUT scheme in last five years. 40 percent of these schemes are completed. 90 percent work of AMRUT scheme in Latur is completed and by August end the work will be completed, the Chief Minister in reply to a question.

The state government has given priority to supplying drinking water and those schemes that do not fit into Centre’s conditions, will be included in Chief Minister’s Drinking Water schemes to provide water, he said.

Meanwhile, in reply to a supplementary question MoS Urban Development Yogesh Sagar said that Parbhani water supply scheme will be completed by September and 135litre water will be supplied per head to the citizens of the town, he added.

Ajit Pawar, Ganpatrao Deshmukh, Vijay Vadettiwar, Sanjay Sawkare, Jaikumar Gore, Bachhu Kadu, Amit Deshmukh, and Smt Yashomati Thakur participated in the discussion on this issue.
