Pune, 26th May 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the inspiring work of Pune-based youth Amit Godse in his radio program ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on Sunday (25th May), recognizing his dedicated efforts toward bee conservation and public awareness.

Originally an engineer by profession, Amit gave up a lucrative job in a software company to devote himself fully to protecting and preserving honeybees. Motivated by the need to ensure the survival of bees and educate the public about their ecological importance, Amit has been working in this field for several years.

To strengthen his mission, Amit pursued scientific training in apiculture. Unlike conventional methods that often harm the bees, Amit practices humane techniques of honey extraction without destroying hives. His initiative, ‘Bee Basket,’ promotes sustainable beekeeping, and through his network ‘Bee Friends,’ he continues to build a community around bee conservation.

Prime Minister Modi praised Amit’s unique contribution, bringing national attention to his efforts. Reacting to the mention, Amit expressed his joy and surprise.

“Ravindra Sathe from Khadi Gramodyog had called me a few days ago and requested some details about my work. I sent the information but wasn’t sure why it was needed. On Saturday (24th May), I was told there was a possibility the Prime Minister would speak about me on ‘Mann Ki Baat’, but I couldn’t believe it until I heard it myself on Sunday,” Amit said, adding that he was overwhelmed with happiness knowing his work had reached the Prime Minister.
