PM Modi Condoles Demise of Ajit Pawar, Calls Him ‘Leader of the People’ with Strong Grassroots Connect
New Delhi/Pune, 28th January 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep grief over the untimely demise of Maharashtra leader Ajit Pawar, calling him a “leader of the people” with a strong grassroots connection and a passion for serving society.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi said Ajit Pawar was widely respected for his hardworking nature and commitment to public service. “Shri Ajit Pawar Ji was a leader of the people, having a strong grassroots level connect.
He was widely respected as a hardworking personality at the forefront of serving the people of Maharashtra,” the Prime Minister wrote.
Modi highlighted Pawar’s understanding of administrative matters and his dedication to empowering the poor and downtrodden.

downtrodden were also noteworthy,” he said.
Calling the death “very shocking and saddening,” the Prime Minister extended condolences to Pawar’s family and admirers.
