PM Modi to address nation at 8 pm today
New Delhi, August 8, 2019 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation at 8 pm today.
It is said the PM might speak about the government’s decision to amend Article 370 which gave special autonomous status to Jammu and Kashmir. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has refused urgent hearing of a plea challenging the Presidential Order on Article 370.
Meanwhile, Congress MP Ghulam Nabi Azad and state Congress chief Ghulam Ahmed Mir were stopped at Srinagar airport when they reached there to interact with locals. Azad will be sent back to the national capital on a Vistara flight at 3.30 pm.
Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik on Thursday took stock of law and order situation and provision of basic services to people. He also reviewed arrangements for enabling people to perform Friday prayers and for celebration of Eid-ul-Azha in the coming week. The Governor also said that mandis will be set up at different locations in the Valley where people can buy animals on the occasion of Eid.
