PMC Commissioner Dr. Rajendra Bhosale Falls Ill Amidst Rising Dengue Cases in Pune

Pune, 19th July 2024: As the prevalence of insect-borne diseases increases in Pune, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Commissioner Dr. Rajendra Bhosale has fallen ill. According to sources, he has shown dengue symptoms. His initial dengue test report came back negative, and he is currently being treated in a private hospital.

In Pune, the number of dengue cases typically rises every year during the rainy season, and this year is no exception. Dengue is spread through mosquitoes, prompting the PMC to initiate mosquito preventive measures. Despite these efforts, PMC Commissioner Dr. Rajendra Bhosale has exhibited dengue-like symptoms and was tested for dengue, with the results coming back negative. The Commissioner is presently undergoing treatment in a private hospital.

Dr. Bhosale’s official residence is in Model Colony, a large area. Following the Commissioner’s appearance of dengue-like symptoms, the PMC’s health department has taken preventive measures at his residence. The health department inspected the residence and conducted mosquito control measures, including spraying insecticide.
