Pune, 6th April 2026: The officials of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Monday conducted an anti-encroachment drive in the Aundh–Baner and Kondhwa Budruk areas, clearing nearly 18,000 sq ft of unauthorised constructions.

The action, part of the civic body’s ongoing crackdown on illegal structures across the city, saw the removal of both temporary and permanent encroachments, officials said.

The drive was carried out in areas near Abhiman Society, Sarja Hotel Lane, Reliance Fresh Signature in Aundh-Baner, and parts of Kondhwa Budruk. The operation began around 9 am and continued through the day.

A team comprising PMC police personnel, Maharashtra Security Force (MSF) staff, around 40 labourers, along with JCB machines, gas cutters and breakers, was deployed for the demolition exercise.

Civic officials said the initiative is part of sustained efforts to curb unauthorised constructions and ensure planned urban development in the city.
